Student-led

Students collaborate in teams to delve into specific subtopics and determine the most impactful way to showcase their research discoveries. Presentation formats include short, impactful public speaking sessions in front of peers and the creation of interactive webpages that creatively present text and graphics.

Flexible instruction

The Odell Education HSLP offers a range of optional supports to cater to students with varying levels of mastery, ensuring their success with a rigorous curriculum. Tailored student support materials, including graphic organizers, question sets, and vocabulary lists, are specifically designed for adaptable use by teachers and students.

Community at the core

Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to build their own understanding of texts and topics, all while taking into account the viewpoints of their peers. They'll work in research teams, engage in group and class discussions, and foster a culture of teamwork and exploration. At the end of the year, each class will showcase their newfound knowledge about important issues to an audience made up of their school, caregivers, and local community.
